GLSCL Releases 2026 Post Season Awards and All-League Selections

The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League is proud to announce its 2026 Post Season All-League Awards.

The selection breakdown for the All-GLSCL Post Season All-League Teams is for each position awarding a first and second-team honorable mention. The designated hitter and utility positions are included for position players. The pitching selections includes starting pitchers, relief pitchers and closers.

All post season selections and awards are determined by the eight coaching staffs with each team getting one vote.

Gary Henschen Player of the Year

Cameron Greene -  Lima Locos - Southeastern Louisiana University

Cameron Greene helped lead the Lima Locos to a franchise record 31 wins playing primarily on the left side of the infield for the North Division Champions. Greene was the starting third baseman for the North Team in the GLSCL All-Star game. The left handed hitter added first-team All-GLSCL to his accolade list along with being the league's most valuable player.  

Greene led the GLSCL in hits (51), runs (43) finishing second in the batting title hitting with a .395 batting average and was fourth in the league with a .589 slugging percentage. He was named the GLSCL Co-Player of the Week on July 6 and was also the NACSB Player of the Week after going 12-for-21 at the plate. Greene hit three home runs with 14 RBIs, scoring 15 runs with 18 total bases and stole four bases for that week. In June, he enjoyed an 11-game hitting streak and for the season had 15-multi-hit games including seven three-hit performances.

The Brentwood, Tennessee native recently committed to Southeastern Louisiana University after spending two seasons at UT Martin. In 2025, Greene was named to the Ohio Valley Conference All-Freshman team, the first Skyhawk player named to the all-freshman team since 2018. This past season, Greene played in 46 games with career-highs in batting average (.292), runs scored (34), hits (47), doubles (11), triples (2), home runs (nine), RBI's (33) and slugging percentage (.553).

Lou Laslo Pitcher of the Year

Alex Dues - Grand Lake Mariners - Ball State University

Alex Dues was the workhorse out of the Grand Lake bullpen this season as the Mariners set a franchise record and tied the GLSCL all-time record with 33 wins. Dues lead the league in appearances, wins and saves. His line for the season was a 6-0 record with five saves and a 2.11 ERA in 23 appearances all out of the bullpen. The right handed submarine pitcher struck out 29 batters while issuing just 14 walks.

Dues made an appearance in the GLSCL All-Star game for the South Team pitching one shutout inning facing four batters with one strikeout and one walk. He was also named the GLSCL Pitcher of the Week on July 6. For the week, Dues made four appearances out of the bullpen for the Mariners picking up three saves pitched six shutout innings and recording five strikeouts. In the post seasons awards, Dues was All-GLSCL First-Team closer.

Dues recently announced that he was transferring to Ball State University after finishing his second season at Division-III powerhouse Marietta College. This past spring Dues appeared in a career high 13 games throwing 23 innings with a 1-1 record and 1 save. Dues helped lead Fort Recovery High School to the 2024 OHSAA (Ohio) Division-IV state runner-up finish his senior year.

Ron Miller Top Player Prospect

Matthew Aldridge - Grand Lake Mariners - UNC Wilmington  

Matthew Aldridge only played the first month of the season due to a shoulder injury suffered on June 28. In those 20 games, Aldridge made quite an impact leading the Mariners in hitting and the GLSCL in home runs and RBIs at the time of his departure. Aldridge still had enough at bats to qualify for the batting title finishing in fifth place with a .351 average and finished second in the GLSCL with six home runs. His slash line also included a .479 on base percentage and a .662 slugging percentage. Aldridge was primarily the leadoff hitter for the South Division champions with 11 stolen bases including four steals on opening night against the Hamilton Joes. 

Aldridge was the only two-time recipient this season of the GLSCL Player of the Week honor. In week one, Aldridge went 11-for-32 as the Mariners won its first six games of the season. He become the first GLSCL position player to earn the NACSB Player of the Week award. Aldridge won the 

GLSCL Player of the Week award again two weeks later going 12-for-24 at the plate with a .500/.538/.875 slash line leading Grand Lake to an undefeated record during the week.

The Greenville, North Carolina completed his freshman season this past spring at Pitt Community College. Aldridge hit .378 with nine homers and 59 RBIs playing 41 games for the Bulldogs playing both left field and at first base. He announced in late June that he was transferring to UNC Wilmington.

Tony Lucadella Top Pitcher Prospect

Ryne Michaeloff - Lima Locos - LSU Eunice

Ryne Michaeloff lead the GLSCL with a 0.79 ERA giving up just two earned runs in 22.2 innings or work on the season for the Lima Locos. Michaeloff made six appearances for the Locos all out of the bullpen in a piggy back role. Lima would often combine two starting pitchers in many of its games in order to conserve the innings workload. Michaeloff's only start of the season came at the GLSCL All-Star game where he pitched one shutout inning striking out two of the four batters that he faced. In addition to the Top Pitcher Prospect award, Michaeloff was also All-GLSCL First-Team relief pitcher.

Michaeloff's best outing of the season came on July 12 against the Xenia Scouts when he recorded a season-high six strikeouts in four shutout innings of work only giving up two hits and two walks. He accounted for either a win or a save in all six of his appearances finishing with a 3-0 record and three saves. Michaeloff showed great command of his pitches only allowing five walks on the season while notching 24 strikeouts.

The Fort Wayne, Indiana native did not appear in a game this past spring during his freshman campaign at the University of Southern Indiana. He transferred in June to LSU Eunice where the Homestead High School graduate will have four years of eligibility remaining.

Joe Carbone GLSCL Manager of the Year

Mike Roberts - Grand Lake Mariners

Mike Roberts led the Grand Lake Mariners, who finished 33-9 on the season, to the biggest one-season turnaround in GLSCL History. The Mariners followed winning just 11 games in each of the last two seasons with 33 victories in 2026. The previous record for biggest one-season turnaround dates back to the GLSCL's beginnings. The Toledo Glass Sox went from 13 wins in the league's inaugural season of 1987 to a league best 33 wins in the 1988. The '26 Mariners and the '88 Glass Sox are also intertwined together being two of the four teams with the most wins in season joining the 2000 Northern Ohio Baseball Club and the 2023 Muskegon Clippers.

Grand Lake, who won the GLSCL South Division by 11 games, started the season red hot winning its first six games. The Mariners later went on an 18-game winning streak that started on June 23 and lasting until July 14.

Roberts came to the Mariners during the off season after several years of managing in the illustrious Cap Code League with both the Wareham Gatemen and the Cotuit Kettleers wining three championships. Roberts also was the head coach at University of North Carolina for 21 seasons from 1978 to 1998 where he led the Tar Heels to five Atlantic Coast Conference titles and two College World Series appearances.

ABOUT THE GREAT LAKES SUMMER COLLEGIATE LEAGUE 

The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate, founded in 1987, is a wood-bat league that is certified by the NCAA and is partially funded by Major League Baseball. The GLSCL is a non-profit 501(c)(3) entity that is one of 12 members of the National Alliance of Collegiate Summer Baseball (NACSB). The league currently consists of eight active franchises in Ohio and Michigan boasting several players that have earned service time in major league baseball.
