Brandt Kendall wins GLSCL Player of the Week
Brandt Kendall from the Grand Lake Mariners who plays for Ball State University is the GLSCL Pitcher of the Week.
GLSCL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - July 20, 2026
Brandt Kendall - Grand Lake Mariners - Ball State University
Brandt Kendall hit for a .519 batting average going 14-for-27 at the plate in six games played during the week. Kendall added a .581 on-base percentage, a .926 slugging percentage and a 1.507 OBS to his slash line. For the week, Kendall had one home run, 12 RBI, four doubles, two triples and 11 runs scored. On July 16, Kendall was a home run shy of the cycle in the Mariners 10-9 come-from-behind victory over the Lima Locos. Kendall had five multi-hit games with 25 total bases and drew four walks.
For the season, Kendall is hitting for .322 batting average with two homers, 25 RBIs, a team high 56 totals bases, three triples and tied for a team-high 39 hits.
The Scottsburg, Indiana native just complete his freshman season at Ball State University. Kendall played sparingly for the Cardinals appearing in just nine games with three hits in eight at bats.

Gabe Gonzalez - Lima Locos - Mercer University
Gabe Gonzalez hit .556 for the week going 10-for-18 with an impressive .703 on-base percentage thanks in part to drawing eights walks in seven games for the Locos. Gonzalez drove in a total of 14 RBI including games of six-RBI and a four-RBI during the week. The Lima catcher scored seven runs with his 13 total bases helping him generate a .722 slugging percentage.
Cameron Spezia - Flag City Sluggers - Davenport University
Cameron Spezia hit .462 for the week going 6-for-13 at the plate with four runs scores and eight total bases in four games during the week. Spezia who has been on a tear during the second half of the season also stealing four bases during the week.
Isaiah Domey - Muskegon Clippers - Michigan State University
Isaiah Domey hit three home runs during the week taking over the GLSCL leaderboard with seven homers for the season. Domey was 6-for-20 at the plate for the week with six runs scored, two stolen bases and 15 total bases.
Steven Schneider - Xenia Scouts - Maryville University
Steven Schneider hit for a .421 batting average going 8-for-19 in five games for the Scouts. Schneider led the way for the team in a 12-5 victory over the Hamilton Joes. He went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two walks, a sacrifice fly and stole two bases as the Scouts snapped a long losing streak.

The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate, founded in 1987, is a wood-bat league that is certified by the NCAA and is partially funded by Major League Baseball. The GLSCL is a non-profit 501(c)(3) entity that is one of 12 members of the National Alliance of Collegiate Summer Baseball (NACSB). The league currently consists of eight active franchises in Ohio and Michigan boasting several players that have earned service time in major league baseball.
