Callaghan O’Connor from Notre Dame and Garrett Byrd from Winthrop University both of the Lima Locos share the GLSCL Pitcher of the Week

Callaghan O'Connor - Lima Locos - Notre Dame
Callaghan O'Connor made the first of three dominate starts by the Lima Locos starting pitching staff on Friday, June 19 against the Xenia Scouts. O'Connor's performance helped lead the first place Locos to a 5-2 at Simmons Field.
O'Connor was perfect through the first five and 2/3 innings retiring the first 17 Xenia batters. He only gave up one unearned run and three hits needing just 76 pitches in his seven innings of work. O'Connor improved his record to 2-0 and lowering his ERA to 1.64 on the season.
O'Connor is an incoming freshman on his way to the University of Notre Dame. The right hander from from Bourbonnais, Illinois will report to the Fighting Irish after a decorated career at Bishop McNamara High School.
Garrett Byrd - Lima Locos - Winthrop University
Garrett Byrd followed O'Connor's performance with a gem of his own on Saturday, June 20 for the Locos. Byrd earned his second victory of the season in Lima's 9-1 over the Xenia Scouts.
Byrd went six innings only allowing a walk in the first inning and an infield single in sixth inning. In the meantime, Byrd retired 14 consecutive Xenia batters. He struck out six batters only facing one batter above the minimum. In his first two starts for the Locos, Byrd has a 2-0 record with a 1.64 ERA.
The Snow Hill, North Carolina native finished his freshman season this past spring at Winthrop University. Byrd appeared in 17 games pitching 40 innings with a 2-1 record and a 6.00 ERA.

Davis Harper - Lima Locos - Kennesaw State University
Davis Harper finished off the weekend of stellar pitching performances for the Lima Locos throwing six shutout innings only giving up one hit against the Xenia Scouts on Sunday, June 21. Harper didn't give up the hit until he surrendered a leadoff single in the sixth inning. He did allow three walks while striking out three batters. Harper improved to 2-0 on the season lowering his GLSCL-best ERA to a microscopic 1.13.
Leo McEnulty - Flag City Sluggers - Anderson University
Leo McEnulty made two appearances, one as a starter and another out of the bullpen, earning two victories for the red hot Sluggers. McEnulty started going 7.2 innings, striking out nine and only giving two walks, two hits and one unearned run on June 16 in a 5-1 win over the Southern Ohio Copperheads. He went four innings out of the bullpen against the Grand Lake Mariners on June 21 earning his second victory pitching four hitless, shutout innings three strikeouts and one walk.

The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate, founded in 1987, is a wood-bat league that is certified by the NCAA and is partially funded by Major League Baseball. The GLSCL is a non-profit 501(c)(3) entity that is one of 12 members of the National Alliance of Collegiate Summer Baseball (NACSB). The league currently consists of 8 active franchises in Ohio and Michigan boasting several players that have earned service time in major league baseball.
